Wine Director, EPIC Roasthouse
Gordana Josovic brings 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry to role overseeing EPIC Roasthouse’s award-winning wine list, which was honored by Wine Spectator with its Award of Excellence.
Born and raised in Serbia, Josovic studied music in her youth, before focusing on business and receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Belgrade. Her passion for traditional Yugoslavian dance provided the opportunity for her to travel and explore Europe, and through these journeys she first discovered her passion for wine. She decided to move to the United States sixteen years ago, and first spent time in Hawaii, working in a restaurant in Waikiki, where she further developed her passion and knowledge of the restaurant business.
Josovic began her career in San Francisco as a lead server at Acme Chophouse, mastering the skills of excellent service in the steakhouse environment. She later moved on to join the team at EPIC, first as a banquet captain, managing the service staff and providing invaluable assistance in organizing wine dinners, wine seminars and tastings. Most recently, Josovic served as a sommelier at EPIC, assisting former Wine Director Petra Polakovicova.
Josovic holds a Certified Advanced Sommelier designation from the Court of Master Sommeliers and is currently studying to sit for the Master Exam. Through her participation in numerous highly-acclaimed wine competitions, she has been able to travel extensively to many of the world’s greatest wine regions, resulting in the cultivation of close relationships with top producers and wine professionals from regions including Chile, Portugal and beyond.
